About 5 minutes from Jill's house there was a beach that we decided to go to. We all - ALL - piled into Jill's Dodge Caliber car. 2 people up front, 4 in the back seat and 1 in the FAR hatchback part. (This was the only picture I could find of us in the car, but really someone rode in the very back). The surfing was fun and I got up one time only on my knees. Um, yeah, and Carolyn did NOT get it on video. Who put her in charge of the camera?
But the water was nice and we just enjoyed the waves.
Doug learned how to do the boogie board. He was pretty much an expert by the time we had to leave. We came home grabbed a bite to eat and then headed to the snorkling place. Jonathan didn't get to go because of a work call that needed to be made and so we didn't have to have anyone in the very back of jill's car this time. We went to Sharks Cove and the snorkling there was great. Then we stopped for a shaved ice and decided to drive to the home we stayed at 2 years ago with all the family (minus Jason, because of mission'ing). It took a few minutes to find it, but we did, and we probably broke the law by trespassing and walking into the backyard to show Jason that we were right on the ocean. Even though we had sent him pictures, you really needed to see it in real life. We drove back home, it took nearly an hour and had to hurry to catch the night show at the Polynesian Cultural Center. It was nice and we were on the 3rd row. We especially liked it because we got our tickets free. The fire guy is amazing. Again exhausted at night.
Oh, mind you, Scott Selin especially, the world cup is playing here as much as it can possibly be. Jonathan will get up at 4am to see the first game and then the second one starts at 8:30am. We are trying to be understanding and work around this time frame so we can all go on activities together. Aloha.
Of course I have discovered a few hearts here:
A rock heart on the way to Sacred Falls
A splotch of tar/paint? on the sidewalk of Jill's apartments.
Cut of branch on one of the beaches we hit. Jill's find. Thanks Jill.
Paint under the railing of Jill's apartment complex.
Coral formation on Goats Island. Fantastic find!!
