belated Thanksgiving - Part 1 out of 3

Our annual Snowflake Thanksgiving pilgrimage was a no-go this year. We had to break it to the kids, who at first were disappointed, but later said it turned out okay. Tuesday before Thanksgiving Thursday, we had a get together with a lot of the DeWitt side of the family so we didn't feel jilted too much. The volleyball we were too miss though, was almost unbearable. (More on that later)
So, a quick run to WalMart to get a turkey. This will be my first Thanksgiving turkey bake ever. (Yeah, that came out of my turkey. Thankfully Doug pulled it out for me. Gross.) And luckily the Butterball turkey came with instructions. Thanks for helping with the placing of the legs Katie). Mom DeWitt had always done it and now Diane has taken over and we can't remember when we hadn't ever gone to Snowflake for Thanksgiving. I had made 2 pies to share at the DeWitt get-together and then made 3 more for the big day. Stuffing was done by Katie - along with some sausage on the side done by Allan, if you wanted to stir it in.
Katie also cooked some canned corn. She was worn out.
Shannon was our table setter and she also won the Centerpiece contest. Actually she was the only entrant. And it was done in a matter of minutes.
Jason stepped up to the plate and mashed our potatoes for us this year. Umm...those potatoes were so creamy. oh, yeah, I forgot. Katie was also the potato taste-tester as well. I started to carve the turkey, but luckily Doug finished it. It was eatable, thank goodness and really quite good. Thank you very much.

You remember this don't you Jason?! Don't laugh Shannon. Keep it in!

After Thanksgiving mandatory napping time.
well, some of us know about the nap time rules. Thanks Jason for obeying. Katie was probably sleeping too, I just forgot to snap a picture.
