I hope this picture will be understood by those that read this blog, which are only my kids and most of them were here when this event took place. In October we, as a family minus Jeff and Jill, got to go to Rocky Point for the weekend. On the way home we caravaned with Carolyn and and boys and as we left Rocky Point we passed this small van that was submerged to its bumper. Carolyn was ahead of us and as I told Doug I thought we should go back and help, she did a u-turn to go back and so we followed. Kudo's for Carolyn. Anyway, I thought we girls would sit in the car and let the men do their manly thing and get the guy unstuck, but once again Carolyn is out of her car and headed for the man's car. So Katie and I had to join her. The van was so low in the front that his bumper was filled with sand as well, so we couldn't just push him out backwards. We were going to have to lift and push at the same time. And it was a stick shift. Not all of my kids know how to drive a stick, so again Carolyn jumped in the drivers seat and the rest of us dug out tires, then lifted and pushed. He was free. The man invited back to his store for some tequila, but we declined. Gosh, why didn't Carolyn jump in then?!! just kidding!! Love you guys. Brian and Celynda had taken off earlier so they unfortunately didn't get to help. Way to go Jason, Kevin, Katie, Dad, barefoot Allan and Carolyn.

Our biggest news!!!
Okay, this was the best event in the past 2 years!! (Sorry, Lukas & Treyson) But our son, Jason, who has been serving a mission in the Halifax, Canada area, came home July 18th!! He was out 2 yrs and 6 days. We all wore these matching Canadian t-shirts, just in case Jason couldn't find us or remember us. We were quite the sight at the airport. We were ALL there together. It was fabulous.
Al's embarrassing moment -
He had been begging Doug to fix our
motorized scooter. It was fixed and he
took it up and down the road a few times
and then he saw people out in the
cul-de-sac by our house and went go say
hi to them. By the way, they have 4 cute
girls whom will be great catches in 10
years or so....anyway, he stopped too hard
and didn't remember that he had to use
both the front and back brake. As you can see-
he got reminded the hard way.
Graduate Shannon-
Oops - in May, Shannon gradutated from 6th grade!! We were so excited (or maybe we were stunned) that Kevin graduated from Mesa High we forgot to post Shan's graduation as well. Of course Doug doesn't really call it a graduation, it is more of an advancement. Anyway, here she is with her 6th grade teacher, Mr. Washington, who retired this year -hmm-after a year with Shannon - I wonder if that helped make his decision to retire any easier!

Katie's Big Day
Katie belongs to the Mesa Club Volleyball team. This past Saturday they had their final tournament. And, not to brag as a mom, but of course they won. They won all 5 of their games and in so doing won the ever 'coveted' gold medal. They were there from 6am until 6pm. Katie had also just returned the night before (at midnight) from our Stake Youth Trek. This is where they dress as 'pioneers' might have and push/pull handcarts filled with their supplies for 12 miles in 2 days. A very exhausting task.

Treyson/Allan/Kevin
I'm just sitting here at Carolyns house helping to watch the boys. She just had Treyson, her 3rd son, and I get to be here for a few days. Today is Allan, my youngest's, birthday. He turned 11!! Can you believe it. I will try to add pictures later. I am still a 'newbie' at blogging. I have stepped into the world of making 'videos'. My #5 child, Kevin, is graduating from Mesa High in about a week and in the past his Grandma Hansen has given all of the kids 'videos' of their lives. So, I have a new computer and a new program and I am making Kevin's. With a little help from Jill, this is nearly done. I still need to add music and thats it. I feel proud of myself, but I know I'm not supposed too. Oh, well.

Ten Fold Revenge
At this year's DeWitt White Elephant Party, I warned everyone that if they left their "treasures" behind at my house, it would be returned to them 10 FOLD. Let's look at who it could have been this year and the revenge that ultimately followed. ........
Was it.........
Maybe you'll be able to guess by seeing the revenge.
Yep, it was Julie. I guess we'll have to wait until next year to see if she learned her lesson.
