Sorry these are backwards, I'll need to think before I post.....
On the way home from hiking, we stopped at 2 thrift stores. Jason found a shirt for 25cents - quite the steal. My big purchase was $1.91! And I got 4 things!! That was in Willcox, so you might make a day trip just to catch their sweet steals!!
Okay, now on the way home from Benson, Arizona, we stopped at the Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Farm about an hour south of Mesa at Picacho Peak. They not only have ostrichs, but donkeys, deer and lorekeets (?). You pay $5 and get a cup of feed for the ostrich, deer and donkeys and also a little cup of nectar for the birds to eat. A few funny moments. Also, those of you who know my 'obsession' with hearts will see a nice little gift a deer left for me!!
Spring Break Camping....

Doug, Jason, Shannon, Allan and I went camping to Benson, Arizona. We got tickets to visit the Kartchner Caverns and to let you know - it was spectacular!! They don't allow cameras, backpacks, cell phones - absolutely nothing inside the cave on your tour. So, thus we have no pictures. But you can go online and see some of the things we saw. It was quite a story about who, how and what things they had to go through to find the cave, and then have it made into what it is today. We also hiked into Fort Bowie. Not so spectacular. But we did see Geronimo's
2 year old son's grave.

I'm trying not to cry!!
Wow, almost a month has gone by since sending out son #3, Kevin, to Australia to serve a mission. He gave such a wonderful talk in Sacrament Meeting and several people have told me that they enjoyed it very much. He spent 19 days in the MTC in Provo, Utah and has been 'down-under' since then. We haven't gotten any pictures from him yet, but we are hoping maybe in one of his coming emails.

Family Photos
This is the winner! Can you believe EVERYONE is looking at the camera without any funny faces (thank you Allan) and all the youngsters are not crying or fusing!! WOW!! Our thanks go to Alison Lorenzen, my niece, for taking great pictures. I will have to add a funny one for you to see how goofy we really can get. Happy Holidays to you all. (What, there is only like 3 or so who check my blog). haha

I hope this picture will be understood by those that read this blog, which are only my kids and most of them were here when this event took place. In October we, as a family minus Jeff and Jill, got to go to Rocky Point for the weekend. On the way home we caravaned with Carolyn and and boys and as we left Rocky Point we passed this small van that was submerged to its bumper. Carolyn was ahead of us and as I told Doug I thought we should go back and help, she did a u-turn to go back and so we followed. Kudo's for Carolyn. Anyway, I thought we girls would sit in the car and let the men do their manly thing and get the guy unstuck, but once again Carolyn is out of her car and headed for the man's car. So Katie and I had to join her. The van was so low in the front that his bumper was filled with sand as well, so we couldn't just push him out backwards. We were going to have to lift and push at the same time. And it was a stick shift. Not all of my kids know how to drive a stick, so again Carolyn jumped in the drivers seat and the rest of us dug out tires, then lifted and pushed. He was free. The man invited back to his store for some tequila, but we declined. Gosh, why didn't Carolyn jump in then?!! just kidding!! Love you guys. Brian and Celynda had taken off earlier so they unfortunately didn't get to help. Way to go Jason, Kevin, Katie, Dad, barefoot Allan and Carolyn.
